Justice League: Legion of Doom

– by Michael Tennant –

If you read my review, then you know I truly enjoyed the Justice League movie. One of the things that I loved was the table they set for what comes next.

LODComic Book Resources recently suggested that DC plans on building the Legion of Doom in the solo movies. If you saw Justice League you can see how they might do this.

I am all for this idea but don’t half-ass it. I want talking, telepathic gorillas, I want a 50 ft. tall woman, I want Thaal Sinestro, and most importantly I was the skull shaped headquarters rising out of a damned swamp.

Is that too much to ask.

I do not want any Injustice League. It has to be the Legion of Doom.

I grew up with the Super Friends cartoon, as goofy as it was. It was all we had. No movies. That would not come until later. We had the Challenge of the Super Friends and the best part was when that skull rose out of the swamp.

LOD BaseI love the idea of building an actual villain team for the heroes to fight in the movies. For all Marvel’s success that is the one thing they have not pulled off. The heroes fight a single villain (maybe a few henchmen thrown in for good measure) or they fight each other but never a team of villains. This could easily change on the DC side.

And it should. Change is good.

Personally I would raise the bar even higher. Not just create this Legion to fight Justice League in the next movie, I would give the Legion of Doom their own movie. Give the villains a moment in the spotlight.

Lex, Deathstroke, Giganta, Grodd, Black Manta, Sinestro, maybe even Brainiac.

I can see the poster now.

They are villains.

They are Legion.

They are the Legion of Doom.
