The Jetsons 2 by Jimmy Palmiotti, Pier Brito & Alex Sinclair – If last issue’s main focus point for me was Elroy, this one has to be the nature of George & Jane. An “accident” at work leaves George down and out. You have to see Jane’s reaction. She’s definitely more gung ho than the Jane from the cartoon. This iteration of the relationship is more like Reed and Sue Richards in terms of dynamic than anything else. Oh and that little problem from issue 1, starts to get worse. As in, threatening the elevated cities with quakes, worse.
Black Bolt 8 by Saladin Ahmed & Christian Ward – The exiled King returns to Earth and Attlian with his new companion to find that there has been a few changes. But how will the Inhuman Nation treat him given all of Maximus’ machinations? How will his son treat him? And yeah, there’s a whole bunch of things he hasn’t been on Earth for… Good thing he has Lockjaw!
Captain America 696 by Mark Waid, Chris Samnee & Matthew Wilson – Captain America across… I mean Steve Rogers across America continues here as he tries to fit in another town towards the heart of the country. Two things though: 1) There’s a new Swordsman eager to ply his trade & 2) Um. Steve? You probably got the most infamous face in the world right now so…
Black Lightning: Cold Dead Hands 2 by Tony Isabella, Clayton Henry & Peter Pantazis – Jefferson knew this was not going to be easy but now both the cops and bad guys want him taken down. He has a student that may know his hero identity, and those bloody illegal weapons are still a danger to everyone! The last 2 pages will have people talking for sure…
Noble 7 by Brandon Thomas, Roger Robinson & Paul Mounts – The Doctor’s recruiting drive continues as he adds a couple of new members. And one of them just might be Noble?!?!?!? And in the “didn’t see that one coming” department, Astrid has a couple of scenes on a plane that will make the most ardent hand-to-hand combat expert stand and cheer. Bad ASS!
Deathstroke 26 by Christopher Priest, Diogenes Neves, Jason Paz & Jeromy Cox – All the secrets are being laid bare as Dr. Ikon tells Slade everything…including the relationship between him and Jericho. Seems Deathstroke also did him dirty, we all didn’t notice… While this is going on, Defiance is trying to work together as a team to find Slade. Yeah. I did say trying right?!?!?!?
Spider-Man 235 by Brian Michael Bendis, Oscar Bazaldua & Brian Reber – No web shooters. No costume. And The Armadillo is ripping up parts of the Brooklyn Bridge. What is a Miles to do? Plus, the Iron Spider has spotted the location of the item for the Sinister Six heist. Who’s totally down for it? Who’s gonna be a burr in the saddle? And as I say all this, Lana FINALLY has a face to face chat with Miles!
Archie 26 by Mark Waid, Audrey Mok & Kelly Fitzpatrick – The full Archie/Betty conversation is on display. Veronica is hurt but how will she get back at Archie? Who else is vying for Betty’s affections? Her dad on the warpath. Is Archie ready for ANY of this? The poor boy can’t really handle pressure that well….
Avengers 674 by Mark Waid & Jesus Saiz – They say major fights tend to change people. In the case of Viv Vision it couldn’t be more on the nose as she is currently human. Yes you read that right. A battle royale on Counter Earth leaves only person able to stop it from colliding with our Earth. That person is…yep you guessed it…Viv.All she has to do is convince the High Evolutionary’s Son to help… Yep he has a son….
Thx For Reading Folks!
