Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur 26 by Brandon Montclare, Alitha E Martinez, Roberto Poggi, Tamra Bonvillain & VC’s Travis Lanham – The problems are starting to run deep for Lunella. Seems that Galactus The Lifebringer wants a word with the smartest there is and, a) Reed Richards isnt on Earth anymore & b) the universal problem might have a big link to her past actions. In keeping it 100, I needed this issue much sooner than now, because in context, now Pete actions in issues 1 and 2 make a little more sense. Not that I agree mind you… As this is going on, Older Miles gets his wish and the last few pages will confuse everyone parachuting in for this finale.
Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows 14 by Jody Houser, Nick Roche, Ruth Redmond & VC’s Joe Caramagna – The battle vs The Lizard continues, but first spotlight on MJ as we see her version of the events of issue 13. This includes a designing talk with Annie, and a very interesting encounter with a bullying situation. Back to the Lizard thing, yeah, if you are not used to Jody’s plotting style, get ready for a surprise or 2 folks.
Secret Warriors 11 by Matthew Rosenberg, Javier Garron, Will Robson, Israel Silva & VC’s Clayton Cowles – All actions no matter how well intentioned will have ramifications. Inferno and Karnak are about to find that out, as the team faces off with Sinister and his forces. Terrigen Crystals are always trouble, just ask Pietro. Can there really be a team after this one?
Black Panther 168 by Ta-Nehisi Coates, Chris Sprouse, Karl Story, Walden Wong, Matt Milla, Chris Sotomayor & VC’s Joe Sabino – Seems that T’Challa isn’t the only one in the family that can layer plans, and you dont f with Ramonda’s Wakanda! The Mother In Chief has her own contingency plan for dealing with Klaw, that has Panther’s approval and will make fans of the extended Black Panther book line since Secret Wars howl with delight.

Cyborg 20 by Kevin Grevioux, Cliff Richards, Ivan Nunes, Gabe Eltaeb & Rob Leigh – Seems there’s a mystical horn that has been discovered in Africa and certain forces want it badly Cyborg is in the way though, but um hes a tech hero… How is he going to handle the mystical? Justice League 34, 35 & 36 by Christopher Priest & Pete Woods & Willie Schu – Christopher Priest takes on the premiere superhero team in his own traditional style, while bringing them into the current era of social media news 6 or 7 stories involving the heroes are running at once with one serious common thread: a hostage situation goes bad and it was caught on video Now viral for the world to see the Justice League will have to deal with more than 1 ramification professionally, physically, mentally, and team dynamically.
Black Lightning: Cold Dead Hands 3 by Tony Isabella, Clayton Henry, Pete Pantazis & Josh Reed – I told you guys about the ending of last issue and this one picks up moments after that one ended as the cops and family have an encounter that ends very VERY badly, much to Whale’s delight Now it up to Jefferson to save two frightened kids their gun all while avoiding the cops and criminals looking to take him out.
The Jetsons 3 by Jimmy Palmiotti, Pier Brito, Alex Sinclair & Dave Sharpe – Ok so several of the plot points from the first couple of issues come together here as George and Jane are working together yet separately on the same problem. Elroy’s love comes back into the picture and that little undersea problem? Yeah it has compounded and the family…if not the whole planet is in it deep!
Deathstroke 27 by Christopher Priest, Diogenes Neves, Jason Paz, Jeromy Cox & Willie Schubert – Spotlight on the ladies as Rose and Tara have a heart to heart which leads to a look into Terra’s “origin/history” with Slade. Speaking of Slade, Joey finds him at the church and I did say heart to heart right? I don’t know if that’s what you’d call it in this case . . . and yeah. China still wants Slade.
Black Bolt 9 by Saladin Ahmed, Christian Ward & VC’s Clayton Cowles – The hardest thing one ever has to do is to tell a family that a loved one has died. Now imagine what Black Bolt has to do to break the news to Titania about Creel? Meanwhile, his return to Earth has not gone unnoticed by other factions of Inhumans. Most notably, LASH’S faction.

You know the phrase about the longer you look into the abyss..? Well, leave it to Kieron Gillen to make that a reality.

Spider-Man 236 by Brian Michael Bendis, Oscar Bazaldua, Justin Ponsor & VC’s Cory Petit – Family drama episode as we find out finally who Ganke’s mysterious girlfriend is. Lana and Miles have a talk about her mom and some other stuff… Perfect time for the “Ultimate Spider” to interject right? If you thought Miles has a complex before, wait until he sees who’s under the mask.
Rise of The Black Panther 1 by Evan Narcisse, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Paul Renaud, Stephane Paitreau & VC’s Joe Sabino – This new look at the legacy and history of The Black Panther begins with an in-depth look at his father T’Chaka. Probably the most in depth look at him and some of the Wakandan lore that have been done to this point. If you really wanted a coda to the McGregor/Priest/Hudlin stories, this really kicks things off to a good start.
